rad-D Radiation Detector™
The rad-D™ is an ultra-sensitive
radiation detector designed to provide maximum monitoring accuracy
and security in doorways, on package conveyor belts, in vehicles,
and other fixed screening installations. The rad-D™ is
built to Government specifications and can detect even minute
traces of gamma radiation. A shielded version can be co-located
with X-Ray screening machines to inspect luggage and packages. If  desired
the rad-D™'s adjustable field of detection can be focused
to a narrow beam to allow inspection of a single package at a
time. The rad-D™'s modular design permits the operator
control and display box to be conveniently located up to 20 feet
away from the detector, accomodating a wide range of real-world
environments. Readouts present information within 1 second of
detection.
The rad-D™ can be networked in a series,
indoors and out, to cohesively monitor large installations or
locations. It can be programmed to work in conjunction with a
security network already in place. It also can be monitored
wirelessly and controlled by use of a handheld PDA.
